CIF-SS, FOX Sports West/Prime Ticket extend partnership

LOS ALAMITOS and LOS ANGELES — The CIF Southern Section (CIF-SS) and FOX Sports West/Prime Ticket have expanded their partnership with a long-term telecast agreement for local high school sports as announced today by CIF-SS Commissioner Rob Wigod, and FOX Sports West/Prime Ticket Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Simpson.

The new deal will kick-off Aug. 29, 2014 with the regional sports networks’ 250th CIF-SS football telecast.

FOX Sports West and Prime Ticket will continue to be the home of the “CIF-SS Football Game of the Week” and deliver coverage that fans have grown accustom to seeing by showcasing both girls and boys athletics. In 2014, FOXSportsWest.com enters a fourth consecutive year of Prep Zone streaming coverage. The online offering will continue to highlight both regular season and playoff competition across 19 CIF-SS sports including, baseball, basketball, football, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

This school year, Fox Sports West, Prime Ticket and FOXSportsWest.com are collectively scheduled to cover more than 100 live CIF-SS events.

In total, FOX Sports West and Prime Ticket have been delivering local CIF-SS athletic coverage since 1997 when the first local “CIF-SS Football Game of the Week” aired on the regional sports network. In September of 2005, Prime Ticket presented its 100th CIF-SS high school football telecast and just this past year, the regional sports networks helped the CIF-SS celebrate their 100 year anniversary with celebratory vignettes and interviews with CIF-SS greats in front of a live audience.
